Little Earth is 9.4 acre, 212-unit Housing and Urban Development (HUD) subsidized housing complex located in the urban industrial core of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Little Earth was founded in 1973 and remains the only American Indian/Native preference project-based Section 8 rental assistance community in the United States.

OUR MISSION: To empower residents by creating a culturally strong, supportive, healthy and unified Little Earth community.
OUR VISION: To provide the residents of the Little Earth community with holistic, culturally relevant programming, by honoring traditional Indigenous values throughout all cycles of life.

Community
Little Earth is home to nearly 1,000 residents, 50% of whom are under the age of 21. Our community has 38 different Tribal Affiliations. Little Earth is a model of self-determination for all Native peoples, prioritizing eliminating systemic barriers through wrap-around support services designed to move communities forward as well as address existing conditions.
